Michelle Cox Life Coaching LLC came about
when two paths intersected.

In 2019, I became intensely interested in improving the way I felt and interacted with my family members because of exposure to life coaching through podcasts and online workshops. I discovered how much influence I actually had on how I felt by managing what I thought.
Then, in 2023, I took a position at my children's elementary school, and started to consider how life coaching could help children feel more confident about learning and be better able to manage their behavior. I eagerly pursued certification as a life coach through Adventures in Wisdom™ life coaching for kids, so that I could begin to help support children of all ages through coaching.
My efforts quickly expanded to include parents, teachers, married couples, college students, community groups and professional conferences!
It has become a passion and a joy to help others
think, feel and behave better!

Mental Health First Aid
In 2024, I became certified as a Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor for Burke Mental Health Services managed by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. I get to visit school districts and other community groups to train adults to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges and substance use in the youth they work or live with, to effectively approach them, and compassionately
connect them to appropriate professional help.
I love supporting the mental health of youth by empowering
adults to take action! This work lines up perfectly with my
life coaching mission to prevent abuse, addiction and suicide.

My Story
Michelle was born in Canada to an American father and a Peruvian mother. She was raised in Indiana, Maryland, Finland and Germany. Growing up overseas, Michelle was able to travel to twenty different countries and experience many cultures. Inspired by a love for people and what makes them unique, she received her Associates degree in Psychology, then her Bachelors degree in Family Sciences with an emphasis in Human Development.
Marrying her best friend, Neal, following graduation, Michelle determined to get as much real-life hands-on experience as possible by starting a family and staying home to raise her kids. She called it her "personal practicum" and planned to become certified as a Family Life Educator once her youngest child started school.
Six children and 19 years later, Michelle returned to the workforce, first as a teacher aide at an elementary school, then as a certified life coach for kids and teens. Completing her certification through Adventures in Wisdom™ Life Coaching for Kids, Michelle has set out to directly respond to the emotional and behavioral challenges that she observed in the classroom, and has responded to in her own home for the past twenty-two years. She offers private coaching, group workshops on Zoom and in-person, as well as the popular mindset summer camps held at the Nacogdoches County Expo Center. She frequently presents at nonprofit agency meetings, conferences, community groups, churches and school groups, and hosted The ChangeMakers Women's Resilience Summit of East Texas in 2025.
Knowing the strain of family life and work demands, Michelle expanded her reach in the Fall of 2023 to include adult resilience workshops and classes, as well as private relationship coaching. It is her firm belief that the secret to world peace is found in strong parent-child relationships.
In 2024, Michelle was trained and certified as a Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor for Burke, a major mental health provider in East Texas. She visits school districts and community groups across her region to inform adults on the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges and substance use issues in the youth they work or live with, and how to connect youth with appropriate professional care. Having lost an older brother by suicide in 1999, Michelle is determined to prevent tragedy through information and awareness, as well as offering hope that recovery is possible.
Armed with decades of life experience and over two years as a life coach, Michelle brings enthusiasm, wisdom, humor and compassion to her work.
In her free time, she loves to travel and explore beautiful places with her family, play board games, watch documentaries, bake breads and knit.
